Here are those party dresses we’ve been stocking in the back of the closet for that special outing. The vintage, corseted bodice kind made of taffetas and satins and all those shimmering fabrics that look just so lavish under the lowlights of outings we’ll be attending this week.
Because we all know the week between Christmas and New Year’s is the longest one of the year. Stretching infinitely to accommodate dozens of brunches, lazy lunches that drag well into the evening, and long cocktail hours were guests stroll in and out, while Ella Fitzgerald sings a tune from another era, attuned to our vintage reveries. Oh, wait. Should we go for that cashmere hoodie and wide-legged pants and suede sneakers for the late lunch/early dinner invite on Wednesday?…
And what about New Year’s Eve? Maybe we should go full out glam. In sequins! Sparkle! Glitter! Be the disco ball you deserve to be. Be bashful. Fun. Be happy!
